Joaquin Phoenix stars in YOU WERE NEVER REALLY HERE as Joe, a traumatized veteran who is unafraid of violence and tracks down missing girls for a living. When his latest job spirals out of control, Joe's nightmares overtake him as a conspiracy is uncovered which may very well lead to his death trip or his awakening. Amazon Studios has released the latest trailer for the upcoming thriller which was written and directed by Lynne Ramsay (WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN) and was based on the novella of the same name by Jonathan Ames.
YOU WERE NEVER REALLY HERE was highly praised upon its debut at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, where Joaquin Phoenix took home Best Actor and Lynne Ramsay won Best Screenplay, and the trailer certainly paints a hauntingly brutal picture. I know I'll definitely be checking it out.
YOU WERE NEVER REALLY HERE is set for a April 6, 2018 release.
