J.J. Abrams’ God Particle lands David Oyelowo and Gugu Mbatha-Raw

J.J. Abrams' GOD PARTICLE is no longer an idea, and now a cast for the film is starting to be assembled in order to prove it.

David Oyelowo and Gugu Mbatha-Raw have signed on for the sci-fi thriller that's been toiling away in development for the last few years now until the success of 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE shook it loose. Originally set up at Paramount InSurge before that banner was shuttered, GOD PARTICLE has been pulled back off the shelf to tell the story of a crew of astronauts on a mission when they discover something that threatens everything they know about the fabric of reality and must fight for their survival. Now all systems are go with Julius Onah directing the film for Bad Robot and Paramount with a February 24, 2017 release date on the books as of now.

There has been speculation by many that GOD PARTICLE could be this mysterious other story that Abrams has mentioned when talking about the greater CLOVERFIELD lore that a select few have a grasp on, coming out of 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE… but that is far from a certainty. The premise of GOD PARTICLE could lend itself to being another "spiritual relative" of the previous films if that is the direction Abrams really wants to go… but for now, the mystery box of another movie is under construction and these two acting pieces, which put out fantastic work on a regular basis, are a good place to start.
