With production on the seventh season of HBO's Game of Thrones kicking off later than usual this year in order to take advantage of a more snow-filled landscape (after all, winter has finally come to Westeros), the usual casting announcements has also been pushed back. Per Entertainment Weekly, HBO has announced the first major piece of casting for the series' penultimate season in which shit will apparently "get real."
Jim Broadbent will be the latest HARRY POTTER actor to join Game of Thrones and, in keeping with tradition, his role is being kept under wraps, although Entertainment Weekly does say that it will be a "significant" one. Who knows what the heck that means now that D.B. Weiss and David Benioff have worked their way through much of the material in George R.R. Martin's books, but if you'd care to venture a guess as to who you think Jim Broadbent will play, sound off in the comments below. As for me, I'd say that Broadbent has maester written all over him.
Production on the seven-episode seventh season of Game of Thrones will kick off later this year and the series will likely return to HBO in the summer of 2017. As for Jim Broadbent, you'll be able to see him very soon in BRIDGET JONES'S BABY on September 16, 2016.
