Kevin Williamson has been making contributions to the horror genre steadily ever since writing SCREAM twenty years ago. Yes, believe it or not, this year marks the twentieth anniversary of SCREAM, and in the years since that movie hit Williamson has worked on such films as I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER, SCREAM 2, HALLOWEEN H20, THE FACULTY, CURSED, and SCREAM 4, in addition to creating multiple TV shows, including The Following, Stalker, and The Vampire Diaries.
Williamson has another show in the works now, an untitled paranormal drama that he is currently developing for The CW. David Nutter (The X-Files, DISTURBING BEHAVIOR) is set to direct the pilot and will be executive producing the show with Williamson.
Written by Williamson, the pilot is
about a young woman who seeks help from a parapsychologist when she begins to experience paranormal phenomena.
PIRANHA 3D's Jessica Szohr has signed on to star in the pilot as Jasmine Lacroix, the granddaughter of a voodoo priestess and owner of a successful tourist shop in Baton Rouge. She is joined in the cast by Bailey Chase as parapsychologist Clark Patterson.
Chase also has a role in the upcoming revival of Twin Peaks, and Deadline hears that Szohr may be playing a role on that show as well. This untitled project may not generate as much enthusiasm online as the Twin Peaks one has, but it sounds like it could be entertaining in its own right.
