Jessica Lowndes and Cam Gigandet will play an engaged couple on the road to ruin in BECOMING, a new thriller being prepped by Omar Naim (THE FINAL CUT). The film is, of course, currently being sold at the Cannes Film Festival.
Unrelated: Remember the days when Cam Gigandet was seemingly in every other movie? Yeesh, dark times indeed. And we still can’t shake him.
BECOMING centers on the lives of Alex (Gigandet) and Lisa (Lowndes), a newly engaged couple that embark on a road-trip for Alex to meet his bride-to-be’s mother. Along the way the couple decide to take a detour to a distant relative of Alex and that’s where the trouble begins. A trail of death and bodies follow the couple until one of them has to take matters into their own hands.
Arclight Films, Gaby Whyte Hart and Michael Kuperberg, along with Fearless Films, SKM Productions and South Creek Pictures are all producing. “BECOMING is not your normal thriller, in fact, we’ve set out to create something new and enthralling,” said producer Hart. “The film is filled with such chilling, suspenseful and supernatural elements that will completely draw audiences in and keep them on the edge of their seats throughout, questioning their own realities.”
Principal filming begins in July of this year.
