Jessica Chastain joins Chris Hemsworth in The Huntsman

The SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN spinoff has just added two-time Academy Award nominee Jessica Chastain (THE HELP, ZERO DARK THIRTY) to its cast, finally making it worthy of putting on your radar. Her specific role has not yet been revealed; just that she joins the returning Chris Hemsworth as his love interest. Charlize Theron returns as well and Emily Blunt will play the films villain. Last month we told you that Frank Darabont had left THE HUNTSMAN due to creative differences and we know that Cedric Nicolas-Troyan, who served as a visual effects supervisor on the first film, will be making his feature film directing debut.

There are no plot details still unfortunately, but it is said to feature a story that expands the 2012 movie and reveals how the fates of the Huntsman, Eric, and Ravenna intersected before they met Snow White. Kristen Stewart as you know will not be returning as Snow White leaving room for more powerful actresses to step up.

Chastain is on a roll again having most recently starred in INTERSTELLAR and A MOST VIOLENT YEAR, and can be seen in Guillermo del Toro’s return to horror CRIMSON PEAK and Ridley Scott’s THE MARTIAN with Matt Damon. She’s one of our greatest actresses and will only get better as time goes on; I can’t wait to see what she brings to this fantasy world.

THE HUNTSMAN is set for an April 22, 2016 release.
