I'm about two seasons behind on Preacher, AMC's TV series based upon Garth Ennis and Steve Dillion's darkly grotesque and at times hilarious comic-series, but it seems that they're doing just fine without me as AMC has renewed Preacher for a fourth season.
Starring Dominic Cooper as West Texas preacher Jesse Custer, Ruth Negga as his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip, and Joseph Gilgun as an Irish vampire named Cassidy, Preacher follows the trio as they embark on a road trip to find God and are thrust into a twisted battle spanning Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between. The last season found Jesse, Tulip, and Cassidy returning to Jesse's home in Angelville, where old grudges and deadly obligations awaited them. Preacher has never exactly been a juggernaut in the ratings department, so I've always been a little surprised each time AMC has brought it back. Production on the fourth season will begin early next year in Australia. In a statement, David Madden, president of programming for AMC Networks, said:
Preacher is a show unlike any other on television. A passionate base of fans found their way to Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy and have followed along with their adventures, at times indescribable adventures, for three seasons. We are thankful to our partners at Sony and to Seth, Evan and Sam for everything they have brought to this series, which we are pleased to renew for a fourth season. Like the superfans of Preacher, we can’t wait to see where this journey leads next.
Are you excited for another season of adventures with Jesse, Tulip, and Cassidy?
