I feel a bit out of the loop on this one, as I haven't seen the first JERUZALEM yet and most of what I know about it was gleaned from The Arrow's 5/10 review. Given a VOD and limited theatrical release at the start of the year, the film was much more successful than I realized, and it has now been announced that the "fan favorite" will be getting a sequel.

Written and directed by Doron and Yoav Paz, JERUZALEM was a found footage film shot through the smart eyeglasses worn by one of its characters. The story:

Two American girls on vacation follow a mysterious and handsome anthropology student on a trip to Jerusalem. The party is cut short when the trio are caught in the middle of a biblical apocalypse. Trapped between the ancient walls of the holy city, the three travelers must survive long enough to find a way out as the fury of hell is unleashed upon them.

Doron and Yoav Paz will be back at the helm for JERUZALEM 2, which will be financed and distributed by Epic Pictures Group.

The first movie showed Jerusalem through the eyes of a tourist, and the filmmakers intend to take that aspect to the next level for the sequel, giving viewers a chance to experience Jerusalem first hand through the addition of an extensive virtual reality component that will take fans into "an immersive world on VR platforms."

Virtual reality platforms, there's another subject I'm clueless about. There are probably JERUZALEM fans who are overjoyed right now, while I sit here baffled. I know VCRs, but not VR.
