Jerry Bruckheimer updates on Beverly Hills Cop 4 and Pirates 5

Last month Jerry Bruckheimer gave an update on TOP GUN 2, and in a new interview with THR, the producer shared a few details on what's going on with two of his other projects: BEVERLY HILLS COP 4 and PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES.

BEVERLY HILLS COP 4 will be directed by Brett Ratner, and Bruckheimer says the script is almost finished, and he hopes filming will start by the end of the summer or early fall. Bruckheimer also says Eddie Murphy's Axel Foley will be spending time in Beverly Hills and Detroit in the new sequel.

"We're going to take Eddie [Murphy] back to Detroit. He's going to be in Beverly Hills … so we're going to have some fun with him."

Last month we also learned PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES might not be be happening, but Jerry Bruckheimer sounds pretty confident about a fifth PIRATES flick, and says he hopes to "get that going" by this fall or the end of the year "if everything lines up properly." According to Bruckheimer, Johnny Depp is expected to return for PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES, and the producer would also like to have Keith Richards come back for the film as well.

However, when asked about a possible sixth PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, Bruckheimer didn't want to speculate, saying "We make 'em one at a time."

So if everything goes as planned, both BEVERLY HILLS COPS 4 and PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES should start filming by the end of this year. Which sequel do you want to see the most?

No word on when BEVERLY HILLS COP 4 might hit theaters, but PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES is currently scheduled to open Summer 2016.
