It might be hard to believe, but it has been nearly one year since Jeremy Renner suffered his potentially life-ending accident. Now, the actor is speaking about how he has grown and what he has learned since January 1st, the date in which he suffered 30 broken bones while trying to rescue his nephew following a major snowfall.
Speaking with CNN, Jeremy Renner said, “I just feel very blessed and very lucky to be upright and walk around and to live life…I’m very, very clear. My life is really lean, if that makes sense. There’s no fat in my life anymore. I don’t have time for that. So, there’s something really beautiful about having that superpower.” He added, “I was really clear about how I want to spend my time, and who I want to spend my time with…This to me feels like family, sort of lifestyle things we talk about all the time. And then we have the spirit itself, it’s much more the shared experience. And that to me is where I want to spend my time.”
While such an incident would shut down most men, Jeremy Renner has proven to be remarkably strong throughout his situation, taking seemingly almost no pause in his recovery to continue promoting any projects he’s involved with and giving updates as frequently as one could expect. As far as what keeps him pushing, he says it comes down to “Perseverance. Strength. It’s all a mental game. I put it in my back pocket now. I know how to deal with pain. It’s all mind. It’s all in the mind. If you can sift through the fog of it all, I am very blessed.”
Jeremy Renner’s current series, Mayor of Kingstown, has been renewed for a third season, certainly a good sign for the star, who was actively promoting the series even while undergoing treatment for numerous injuries.
