Hustlers, Jennifer Lopez, Amazon Prime Video

UPDATE: Apparently, this is streaming free only in specific territories like the UK, so NOT in the U.S. Sorry, guys. But, it's still pretty dang good and has JLo doing some pretty amazing stripper moves that you don't imagine most 50 year old women to be able to do, so maybe rent it or buy it anyway. Your choice, of course.

Now that most everyone is staying at home, we're all looking for a little entertainment to help us through these dark days, which means that people are turning to streaming services now more than ever. As April has only just begun (what new horrors await us this month?), most streaming services have added new movies to their catalogue, and you might be interested to know that HUSTLERS, Jennifer Lopez's stripper drama is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Based on Jessica Pressler's New York magazine article "The Hustlers at Scores," HUSTLERS follows a crew of savvy former strip club employees who band together to turn the tables on their Wall Street clients. Lorene Scafaria (SEEKING A FRIEND FOR THE END OF THE WORLD) directed the film which starred Jennifer Lopez, Constance Wu, Julia Stiles, Keke Palmer, Lili Reinhart, Lizzo, and Cardi B. The film largely received positive reviews, with our own Matt Rooney saying that although the film comes off as a "fun, sexy crime flick with a dope soundtrack" on its surface, it soon transforms into a "crazy, sexy story with compassion for the characters, infectious energy, genuine crime vibes and more than enough laughs." You can check out the rest of Rooney's review right here.

In addition to the positive reviews, HUSTLERS also garned quite a bit of attention for Jennifer Lopez's performance, with many feeling disappointed that she didn't receive an Oscar nomination, and that includes Lopez herself. While being interviewed by Oprah Winfrey, Lopez said that she "felt like I let everyone down a little bit" when she wasn't nominated.

I was sad, I was a little sad because there was a lot of buildup to it. There were so many articles, I got so many good notices – more than ever in my career – and there was a lot of: “She’s going to get nominated for an Oscar, it’s going to happen, if it doesn’t you’re crazy. I’m reading all the articles going: “Oh my god, could this happen?” And then it didn’t and I was like: “Ouch,” it was a little bit of a letdown."

Will you be checking out HUSTLERS on Amazon Prime Video during your self-isolation?
