Jennifer Lawrence will reunite with Bradley Cooper on David O. Russell’s next film. Plus a 30 minute featurette on Silver Linings Playbook

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

I am going to say this now: Jennifer Lawrence is probably going to win Best Actress at the Oscars next week. Seriously, she is a Hollywood darling right now and she is actually a good actress. After WINTER’S BONE it seemed like a foregone conclusion she would win the trophy some day. Now that SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK is actually a Top 5 contender for Best Picture, Lawrence may have found the director to take her to the next level.

That is likely why Jennifer Lawrence has signed on to David O. Russell‘s next movie, the currently untitled film previously known as AMERICAN BULLSHIT follows the true-life investigation known as ABSCAM, which was a sting operation set up by the FBI out of the organization’s Long Island offices that targeted government officials who had been collecting bribes. The actions of a team of investigators brought to justice one U.S. senator, five members of the House of Representatives, one member of the New Jersey state senate, several members of the Philadelphia City Council, and many more members of the chain of command.

Lawrence will play wife to Christian Bale (lucky bastard) who is reuniting with Russell after making THE FIGHTER together. The cast also includes Jeremy Renner, Amy Adams, and Louis CK. That is probably one of the best casts in a Russell film to date and has a lot of potential for the Oscars next year as well based on the director’s track record.

Speaking of David O. Russell and SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK, The Weinstein Company has released a 30 minute featurette about the making of the movie to try and spark interest before the Academy Awards in a few weeks. Be warned that this video features major spoilers for the movie, so if you haven’t seen it yet, don’t watch this. For the rest of you, check out why SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK is a Best Picture contender this year.
