THR is reporting that Jeffrey Dean Morgan (THE POSSESSION) will be joining up with Anthony Hopkins and Colin Farrell in Afonso Pyart’s supernatural thriller SOLACE. The flick sounds pretty cool and puts a little twist on the serial killer genre — here is how it all goes down.
The story centers on a former doctor with psychic abilities (Hopkins) who is drawn into a serial-killer case, only to find that the killer (Farrell) is a psychic as well — so the two men can detect each other’s moves.
SOLACE doesn’t sound like your average serial killer flick because as far as I know, murderers don’t have psychic powers. I’m really excited for this, especially to see Farrell playing the villain. He’s a great actor who always seems to turn it up when he’s playing the antagonist.
Morgan is set to play a veteran FBI agent leading the investigation of a series of terrible murders. He recruits Hopkins’ character to help him catch the killer. It’ll be interesting to see how Hopkins and Farrell’s characters try to out wit one another as they can both read minds, so I’m sure we can expect a very creative cat and mouse chase.
Peter Morgan (THE QUEEN, FROST/NIXON)penned the most recent draft of the script which has also seen Sean Bailey, Ted Griffin and James Vanderbilt work on it as well.
