Jeff Goldblum and others join Wes Anderson’s new stop-motion animated film

Wes Anderson's desire to return to the world of stop-motion animation has been known for some time, but it has now been confirmed that his next film will be a stop-motion animated affair which, much like FANTASTIC MR. FOX, will focus on an animal, in this case, a dog. It's expected that the as-yet-untitled film will feature several of Wes Anderson's usual players, and one of those usual players has revealed who will be be joining him in Anderson's latest.

Per The Nerdist, Jeff Goldblum was asked when he'd next be collaborating with Wes Anderson during a show with his band, The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra. The actor revealed that he would actually be starring in Anderson's new stop-motion film and that he'd be joined by Bob Balaban, Edward Norton, Bryan Cranston, and that they'll be playing a pack of dogs. As the film is still in pre-production, Jeff Goldblum didn't reveal any further details other than to say that the film would be "Japanese inspired".

After recently watching FANTASTIC MR. FOX for the first time, I'm already eagerly awaiting Anderson's return to the medium; MR. FOX was absolutely delightful and full of unique animation, yet still retained that Wes Anderson charm that many love (and just as many hate).

Are you looking forward to a new Wes Anderson stop-motion film? Which of Anderson's frequent collaborators do you hope will return?
