As you may recall, we previously reported that director Miguel Ángel Vivas (KIDNAPPED) will make his English language debut on WELCOME TO HARMONY, an adaptation of Juan De Dios Garduño’s Spanish novel, Y PESE A TODO, which Vivas co-wrote with Alberto Marini.
Jaume Collet-Serra’s Ombra Films will team with Spain’s Vaca Films and France’s La Ferme to procedure the film. Collet-Serra (above) is the director behind UNKNOWN, ORPHAN and HOUSE OF WAX. He co-founded Ombra to produce low-budget, English, genre films with Spanish talent.
The picture is budgeted at $7 million. Principal photography is scheduled to begin in early 2012. Here’s a little bit about the plot, courtesy of Variety:
Set in a post-apocalyptic world, WELCOME TO HARMONY turns on two men and a small girl living in a remote hamlet, who remain untouched by a worldwide infection. Infected survivors arrive at the hamlet, but the infection turns them into beasts.
