Jason Statham says MEG is Jurassic Park meets Jaws

Last Updated on November 27, 2023

I love killer shark movies.

No I have not seen, nor will I see, any of those SHARKNADO flicks, but I'm talking about JAWS, JAWS 2 (the teen slasher of killer animal flicks), hell, I even love JAWS 3D on occasion. THE SHALLOWS was much more badass than I thought it was going to be too while we're on the subject.

With all of this in mind, I am looking forward to the new mega killer shark flick MEG

I have always had this idea for what I believe would be THE coolest trailer to see whilst sitting in a theater during the summer-movie season. Picture this: a bunch of assh*les on the beach. Having fun. Swimming. Etc. Out in the surf, we see a chick, you know, surfing. The wave grows larger and larger. People begin to take notice. Then: out of the murky blue water – fully surrounding the surfer girl head-to-toe – a massive set of… wait for it… jaws! Cut to black. "JURASSIC SHARK". Rated R.

Anyways, speaking of huge f*cking sharks and the movie MEG, Jason Statham was recently on the Jim & Sam Show and dropped a few bits of info on the new mega killer shark motion picture.

Statham on MEG:

It’s a cross between, I’d say, Jaws and Jurassic Park. It turned out really good.

That sound you just heard was me kicking over my computer on my way out to buy tickets to this flick asap. JURASSIC PARK meets JAWS is one of the best pitches I have ever heard! Too bad it was already used to describe DEEP BLUE SEA… But whatever, when it comes to JURASSIC PARK meets JAWS movies, the more the merrier, I say.

Another interesting note regarding MEG is that Statham was also asked if the film was going to be presented in 3D and he told them that is "probably" will. While that doesn't mean for certain the new flick will be in 3D, that very well may end being the case once the film hits theaters August 10, 2018.

We'll have to wait and see about that.
