As most of us know by this point in time, FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VI: JASON LIVES writer-director Tom McLoughlin has written a spec script for another Jason adventure called JASON NEVER DIES. And while we (sadly) will probably never see this film come to life on the big screen, today we're hearing new details on the script from McLoughlin himself and our buddies over at Bloody Disgusting.
Mainly that Tom McLoughlin's JASON NEVER DIES features an all-female cast battling Jason in the snow!
Tom McLoughlin reveals:
One thing I’m doing that hasn’t been done before is I’m putting Jason in the snow. So, from the beginning of the movie to the end, it’ll all be in winter.
He then adds:
One other thing I’ll give away is that the entire cast is female, with the exception of Jason. And then there are three or four other things that have not been done before, which I’ll hold back on so there can be some surprises.
Personally, I can't help but start praying this movie hits the light of day. I mean, like many of the rest of you FRIDAY fans, I think JASON LIVES is perhaps the best installment in the whole franchise. So seeing it's writer-director return for more winter-set Voorhees mayhem sounds like about the coolest possible Jason movie ever. What do you think of Tom McLoughlin's winter-set all-female FRIDAY THE 13TH sequel? Let us know below!
In the meantime, remember that McLoughlin wrote and directed JASON LIVES while Don Behrns produced. It stars Thom Mathews, Jennifer Cooke, and David Kagen. Paramount Pictures unleashed the killer horror-comedy into a theater near your parents for date night back on August 1, 1986.
