Jason Momoa’s The Crow set to take flight with new 2019 release date

You guys are never going to believe this. I was just sitting in my office, minding my own business, when a pitch-black crow landed on my windowsill and quothed that Sony's planned remake of THE CROW starring AQUAMAN's Jason Momoa will be taking flight in theaters on Oct. 11, 2019. 

Of course, THE CROW will tell the tale of Eric Draven, a a poetic guitarist who is brought back to life by a crow a year after he and his fiancé are murdered on Halloween night. What follows is a gut-wrenching act of revenge that's sure to prove that love never truly dies. How director Corin Hardy will approach the remake is unknown at this time, though we've known for a while now that Momoa is super excited to be participating in the project, as evidenced by his enthusiastic Instagram posts to the WATCHTOWER and THE NUN director:

In the past, names like Bradley Cooper, Luke Evans, and Jake Huston have been floated around for the starring role of the comic-to-screen reboot, though it wasn't until Momoa boarded the project that things finally clicking into place. Originally, THE CROW arrived as a comic book series from American artist James O'Barr in 1989. The comic was later made into the cult classic film directed by Alex Proyas and starring the late Brandon Lee.

When Hardy's remake arrives, you can bet that fans of the original will have a lot to say about the newest adaptation of the Eric Draven character. Personally, I'm hoping for the very best, as I feel that not only is Momoa a righteous fit for the character, but also that now is the perfect time to present THE CROW to a fresh audience. Here's hoping movie soars at the box office and ignites a whole new interest in the love-lorn vigilante hero.
