Jason Momoa found himself in a real-life Fast & Furious situation in California after being involved in a scary crash involving a motorcyclist that thankfully left them both relatively uninjured.
Right before 11:00 AM on Sunday, Momoa was driving along Old Topanga Road in Calabasas, California, in his 1970 Oldsmobile. The road is notoriously curvy, so you must proceed with caution when making sharp turns. When Momoa was cruising along the road, a 21-year-old motorcyclist named Vitaliy Avagimyan crossed the center line and crashed head-on into Momoa’s muscle car. Per TMZ, law enforcement said the motorcyclist came in contact with the vehicle as he drove around the curve, crossed over into the actor’s lane during the bend, and hit the left side of the car.
Here is the movie moment of this whole incident, which makes it crazy no one was seriously hurt. The collision sent Avagimyan flying into the air, at which point he ricocheted off Momoa’s windshield before clearing the hood of his car to end up on the other side, landing on his feet. That’s right! He didn’t crash to the ground. He landed on his feet as if he was a professional stuntman doing his job on his latest action film.
Momoa got out of his car to help the motorcyclist and flagged down a passing driver to call 9-11. California Highway Patrol came on the scene and said Momoa was uninjured while the motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital and treated for minor, non-life threatening injuries. These reportedly included bruising to his leg and an injury to his thumb. Considering the severity of the hit, this guy is very lucky to be alive. As of now, no charges have been filed, and TMZ believes that Momoa and the motorcyclist are leaving the situation with both parties not putting fault on the other.
