I've always been one to call out Netflix for not being overly "horror-friendly" but all of that seems to be changing over the past year as the streaming giant has not only been slapping up some quality flicks, but they have even been producing them themselves with such new classics as Mike Flanagan's adaptation of Shirley Jackson's THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE leading the pack along with the recently released BIRD BOX with Sandra Bullock.
And wouldn't you know it, this month Netflix has added quite a few classic horror films to their library. But first and most importantly (at least to this viewer) is director Adam Marcus' controversial ninth entry in the FRIDAY THE 13TH series JASON GOES TO HELL: THE FINAL FRIDAY. Many people hate on the film but I highly suggest adding it to your queue ASAP and giving it another day in court. You just might be surprised how much you enjoy it!
Other films that have just unleashed over on Netflix include awesome horror-thriller THE AUTOPSY OF JANE DOE, JASON X, THE RITE, GOTHIKA, GHOST SHIP, THE EYE, 90's slasher I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER, Bryan Bertino's THE STRANGERS, and THE UNINVITED
For those that might not know, JASON GOES TO HELL begins
After being blown away by a team of FBI agents, Jason Voorhees (Kane Hodder) needs to find a way to overcome certain death. When his bloodied remains are sent to the morgue, his heart, still intact, is able to hypnotize a coroner and take over his body. After brutally dispatching a couple of FBI agents, he heads back to his favorite stomping grounds: Crystal Lake. Jason commences another teen massacre while a bounty hunter (Steven Williams) discovers the only way to kill him.
JASON GOES TO HELL is directed by Adam Marcus from a screenplay written by Jay Huguely and Dean Lorey. Sean S. Cunningham and Debbie Hayn-Cass produced and it stars John D. LeMay, Kari Keegan, Erin Gray, Allison Smith, Steven Culp, Steven Williams, and Kane Hodder as Jason.
