Perks of being a producer: while the general audience has to wait seven more months to see what director David Gordon Green has done with the new HALLOWEEN film and are being kept in the dark about the story Green crafted with his co-writer Danny McBride, Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions already knows all the secrets and expects to see a cut of the film within six weeks.
Filmed in Charleston, South Carolina through January and February, the latest entry in the HALLOWEEN franchise ignores every other entry except the first film and sees the return of Jamie Lee Curtis as original heroine
Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.
Curtis's co-stars include Judy Greer as Laurie's daughter Karen; Andi Matichak as Karen's daughter Allyson; Miles Robbins, Virginia Gardner, Dylan Arnold, and Drew Scheid as Allyson's Haddonfield High classmates; Will Patton and Rob Niter as police officers; Rhian Rees as a character named Dana; Diva Tyler as a caretaker; and original Michael Myers performer Nick Castle, back under the mask and playing the character again with an assist from stuntman James Jude Courtney.
John Carpenter also made his return to the franchise with the new film, executive producing and planning to provide the score.
Blum revealed (/boasted) that he'll be seeing a cut of the movie soon on his Twitter account. The time frame given should mean that Blum will be watching HALLOWEEN right around the time his company's latest film BLUMHOUSE'S TRUTH OR DARE reaches theatres on Friday, April 13th.
HALLOWEEN is scheduled to be released on October 19th.
Halloween update: We should be seeing a cut within 6 weeks. How’s that?!?!
