Before you folks head down TOAD ROAD this October, we'd like you guys to check out a couple of cool character posters as well as an eerie teaser to go along with them. As teasers do, it really doesn't offer a whole lot to go on but there's just something creepy about it that will find a comfortable spot under your skin—I think you guys are going to dig it. If you plan on checking this one out you can look for it in theaters on Friday, October 18th at the Arena Cinema in Los Angeles, and in New York at Cinema Village on Friday, October 25th. If you miss its limited theatrical release all you have to do is wait until December 10th where it will get a DVD/VOD release!
Jason Banker directed and produced TOAD ROAD, marking it his first narrative feature which earned praise from audiences and critics alike last fall at the influential Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal, where it won awards for Best Director and Best Actor (James Davidson).
TOAD ROAD is a local urban legend about a path in the woods rumored to contain the 7 gates that lead to hell. The film follows a group of friends with few inhibitions and no boundaries perilously mixing drug use with self discovery. In Toad Road, verité footage, drug use, drunken pranks, and personal issues comprise a disturbing portrait of contemporary youth culture where the lines between perception and reality are blurred with frightening results.
TOAD ROAD was produced by Jason Banker's Blackout Films in collaboration with Liz Levine & Adrian Salpeter of Random Bench and was executive produced by SpectreVision a horror film company started by Daniel Noah, Josh C. Waller and acclaimed actor Elijah Wood.
