Jamie Lee Curtis: You’ll go bonkers for Kyle Richards in Halloween Kills

Production has wrapped on HALLOWEEN KILLS, director David Gordon Green's sequel to his 2018 film HALLOWEEN – which was itself a sequel to John Carpenter's 1978 classic HALLOWEEN that ignored all of the other sequels. We're going to have to wait until October before the movie reaches theatres, but the next eleven months are probably still going to be a busy time for HALLOWEEN news. Not only do we have HALLOWEEN KILLS marketing to look forward to, but Green is also expected to start filming another sequel, HALLOWEEN ENDS, sometime next year.

One of the most exciting things about HALLOWEEN KILLS is the fact that it's going to be full of returning characters from the '78 film. Joining Jamie Lee Curtis as returning heroine Laurie Strode are Anthony Michael Hall as Tommy Doyle, Nancy Stephens as Nurse Marion, Robert Longstreet as Lonnie Elam, Charles Cyphers as Leigh Brackett, and Kyle Richards as Lindsey Wallace.

Best known these days for appearing on the reality show Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and for being Paris Hilton's aunt, Richards first played Lindsey Wallace in the original film when she was just nine years old. She has been wanting to return to the franchise lately, and after an unsuccessful attempt to get cast in HALLOWEEN 2018 she is back for HALLOWEEN KILLS… and Curtis told Us Magazine that her role in the film is really something to look forward to.

Curtis said,

She is so great that it’s going to be so fun for her audience — who is now used to knowing her for her TV show. They are going to be so happy to see her be an actress again, and she is absolutely fantastic."

Don't think the filmmakers just let Richards glide through the events of this film because of her rich and famous lifestyle. It sounds like Lindsey Wallace is set to have an even worse Halloween than the one she experienced in 1978.

[She’s] so beautiful that, you know, she gets very decomposed. Not… you know what I mean. Like, distressed in this movie, in every way. Emotionally, physically, environmentally, and she just completely left that other life and just came and shot for three, four weeks and was amazing. People are going to be bonkers about her."

As far as we could tell, it seemed like Curtis was only on the HALLOWEEN KILLS set for nine days, so it's interesting to hear that Richards was on set for three or four weeks. Is there going to be a lot more Lindsey than Laurie in the movie? We'll have to wait eleven months to find out.

HALLOWEEN KILLS also features returning cast members from HALLOWEEN 2018: Judy Greer as Laurie's daughter Karen, Andi Matichak as Laurie's granddaughter Allyson, Dylan Arnold as Allyson's boyfriend / Lonnie's son Cameron Elam, and Jibrail Nantambu as Julian. Original Michael Myers performer Nick Castle is in the cast, possibly making another masked cameo like he did in HALLOWEEN 2018, and Myers is primarily being played by James Jude Courtney again.

One new addition to the cast is child actress Victoria Paige Watkins, playing a character named Christy.

Written by Green, Danny McBride, and Scott Teems, HALLOWEEN KILLS is set to reach theatres on October 16, 2020.

Scripted by Green, McBride, Paul Brad Logan, and Chris Bernier, HALLOWEEN ENDS is scheduled for an October 15, 2021 release.

Malek Akkad is producing these films with Jason Blum and Bill Block. Green, McBride, and Curtis serve as executive producers alongside John Carpenter and Couper Samuelson. Carpenter will also be composing the score.
