Jamie Foxx teaming up with daughter Corinne for another game show

Jamie Foxx is looking to get back into the spotlight as soon as possible, as it was just announced that he and his daughter Corinne will be co-hosting the game show We Are Family, set to premiere on Fox next year.

The news comes the week after Corinne Foxx revealed that her father Jamie had been released from the hospital following a “medical complication.” The details of that episode have yet to be disclosed, leading to much speculation as to what happened with Jamie. Corinne Foxx, who has been the de facto spokesperson for Jamie, didn’t help matters much when she announced that he had actually been out for some time, posting on Instagram, “update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild. My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support!”

In a statement, Jamie and Corinne Foxx said, “We are thrilled to be developing We Are Family with Jeff Apploff and our friends at Fox Entertainment after so much success with six seasons of Beat Shazam…We hope this show brings as much fun to audiences at home as we’ve had creating it when it premieres next year.”

Beat Shazam found guests facing off against the music-identifying app to see if they could name the song before it could. Jamie served as host while Corinne served as DJ. Following Jamie Foxx’s stint in the hospital, Nick Cannon and Kelly Osbourne filled in the respective roles. Jamie and Corinne Foxx have also teamed up for an episode of Carpool Karaoke, while they both appeared on separate editions of Live in Front of a Studio Audience, with Jamie playing George Jefferson on both All in the Family and The Jeffersons and Corinne in Good Times.

As per Deadline, “Showcasing non-famous relatives of celebrities performing duets with their hidden famous family member, We Are Family will feature a studio audience entirely comprised of 100 contestants playing through multiple rounds of clues and gameplay to win up to $100,000 each by correctly guessing which celebrity the performer is related to before they are revealed.”

Jamie Foxx’s next film, Back in Action, is set to come to Netflix later this year or early next.
