Yesterday, HERCULES and VIDEODROME actor James Woods revealed that he'd been dropped by his agent because of his staunch political views. Upon hearing the news, Woods shared the email from his former agent, Ken Kaplan, which sparked a series of comments from both sides of the political spectrum.
In the email, Kaplan excused himself from representing his client by saying: "It's the 4th of July and I'm feeling patriotic," Kaplan, who is an associate of the Gersh Agency, wrote. "I don't want to represent you anymore. I mean I can go on a rant but you know what I'd say."
As a response to the message, Woods said, "So this email from my agent (a political liberal) today…"
The statement that served as the straw that broke Kaplan's back remains unclear at this time, though in the past Woods has addressed the President directly by saying, "Dear Mr. President, when will you get a Department of Justice with teeth? Voter fraud, criminal “sanctuary” hideouts, mass illegal invasion, the opioid epidemic, gang murders, drug cartels are all rotting the soul of our blessed America. Unleash the dogs of war, sir. It is time."
After contemplating his being dropped as a client of Kaplan's Woods tweeted the following as a response to the action:
For now, it is clear that Woods and Kaplan will be going their separate ways. In regard to upcoming projects, Woods is set to reprise his voice-acting role as Hades of the Disney animated film HERCULES for the release of Square Enix's long-anticipated video game sequel, KINGDOM HEARTS 3.
