James Wan’s Malignant Man hires writer Zak Olkewicz

Last Updated on July 22, 2021

One of the projects James Wan has on his plate is MALIGNANT MAN, a film he became attached to way back in June. Of course, he’s a natural fit to helm it, as he created the book for BOOM Studios a few years ago. News on the film has been quiet since, but we now know it’s not completely dead as a new screenwriter has been hired to pen the adaptation.

Deadline reports Zak Olkewicz, an up-and-comer with a handful of scripts in development, will write MALIGNANT MAN, which focuses on…

Alan Gates, a cancer patient with a terminal diagnosis who is resigned to his fate until he discovers that his tumor is actually a mysterious parasite. Granted a second lease on life and incredible, otherworldly powers, Alan must fight against an evil army buried beneath society’s skin, all the while unlocking the secrets of his forgotten past.

Wan will likely get to MALIGNANT MAN after he helms THE CONJURING 2, which is scheduled to come out June 10, 2016.
