With IT: CHAPTER TWO set to kick off production in Toronto this summer, we're beginning to see the cast of the much-anticipated sequel come together. Jessica Chastain (MOLLY'S GAME) is already onboard to play the adult Beverly Marsh (played by Sophia Lillis in the first film) and according to THR, both James McAvoy (X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX) and Bill Hader (Barry) may be joining her.
Both Bill Hader and James McAvoy are said to be in negotiations for the role, and should the deals become finalized, McAvoy would play Bill Benrough, "the unofficial leader of the group of kids nicknamed the Losers Club and who grows up to be a successful author. When he returns to face his past, his old stutter resurfaces." Hader is, unsurprisingly, up for Richie Tozier, the jokester played by Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things) in the first film. Some top quality casting if you ask me, and it really points to Warner Bros. pulling out all the stops for the sequel, which, when you consider that IT made over $700 million on a $35 million budget, only makes sense. Bill SkarsgÄrd will obviously be returning as Pennywise, as will the child actors from the first movie who will appearing in flashback scenes.
What do you think of James McAvoy and Bill Hader joining the cast of IT: CHAPTER TWO?
IT: CHAPTER 2 is set for a September 6, 2019.
