Details about J.A. Bayona's JURASSIC WORLD 2 have been somewhat scarce, other than Chris Pratt teasing that the second installment will be "scarier, darker and unexpected." The sequel has also gathered together quite the cast, in addition to the returning Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard and B.D. Wong, JURASSIC WORLD 2 is also set to star Jeff Goldblum, Rafe Spall, Toby Jones, Ted Levine and James Cromwell. The latter actor recently appeared on Larry King Now and revealed a few details about his role in JURASSIC WORLD 2, namely, that his character has a big connection to the original JURASSIC PARK.

The character Richard Attenborough played, I’m his partner, Benjamin Lockwood. We developed the technology of being able to clone the genes. And so I’m trying to deal with the blowback from what we have done.

While it may be a little strange that we've never heard of John Hammond's partner until now, especially as he seems to be quite important to the entire enterprise, I would hope that JURASSIC WORLD 2 will offer up a suitable explanation.

Production on the sequel recently reached the half-way point and I can't wait to see what they have in store for us, especially as Jeff Goldblum will be returning as Dr. Ian Malcolm. What could possibly bring Malcolm back into the world of dinosaurs? I can't even begin to imagine. According to J.A. Bayona, this second chapter of the JURASSIC WORLD trilogy will be "massive" and "way bigger than the last one."

JURASSIC WORLD 2 is set for a June 22, 2018 release.
