Just when you thought you got rid of James Corden…Less than one week after it was announced that Taylor Tomlinson would be taking over his late night slot with her own show, James Corden has officially landed a deal with SiriusXM, where the former The Late Late Show host will host an interview program.
While few details are available at this time – more are expected later in the week – sources say that This Life of Mine with James Corden will premiere on SiriusXM in early 2024. As per the press release, “From favorite music and movies to books and advice, the show will seek to tell the untold stories of some of the most well-known public figures.”
In a statement, James Corden expressed his excitement for the SiriusXM deal by saying, “I am thrilled to be joining SiriusXM…Scott [Greenstein, Sirius XM president and CCO] and the whole team have made me feel so welcome as I start this new chapter. It’s a dream to have a space to engage in deep conversations with the people whose work and talent I greatly admire.”
Greenstein also praised the move to bring James Corden to satellite radio, saying, “James Corden is an incredible talent who is always pushing the boundaries of what’s possible…With a career that spans acting on stage and screen, developing and launching hit series such as Carpool Karaoke, and of course his iconic eight-year run as a late night host, James has been a trailblazer in the entertainment business. We’re so honored to welcome him to the SiriusXM family as he begins this next phase of his illustrious career and makes his mark in audio.”
James Corden left The Late Late Show back in April after hosting the show for nine seasons and just under 1,200 episodes. His final guests were Will Ferrell and Harry Styles, while fellow late night hosts Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, and more all made special appearances.
For his work on The Late Late Show, James Corden earned the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Interactive Program. The show itself was nominated for the Outstanding Talk Series Emmy four times.
