James Cameron the director might be brainstorming about Pandora’s various moons right now for the AVATAR sequels, but James Cameron producer is busy throwing his weight around behind various projects.
His most recent effort was SANCTUM, which featured underwater cameras so naturally he must be involved, and now he’s found a director for his next EP project, FANTASTIC VOYAGE.
Darren Aronofksy, Timur Bekmambetov and Jonathan Moscow all met with Cameron about the project, and previously Paul Greengrass and Louis Leterrier had been attached. So who did Cameron go with?
Shawn Levy of NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM and CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN fame. Say wha?
The film is said to be mostly CGI, and Levy has experience with that after recently helming REAL STEEL with Hugh Jackman, and the film is supposed to be a family affair, which makes sense with his other projects. What, you thought a movie about a ship traveling through a human body would be a R-rated sex/gore fest?
What do you think about Levy as the choice here?
