Oh boy, here he goes again.
James Cameron is once again returning to the world of TITANIC for the upcoming National Geographic documentary “Titanic: Final Word with James Cameron,” which I have a feeling will NOT be James Cameron’s final word on the Titanic.
Says Michael Cascio, VP of programming at NatGeo, “He is a freak about the Titanic.” Oh, you don’t say? Hadn’t noticed.
So what’s this latest Titanic documentary about? Cameron apparently built a 40-foot scale model of the Titanic where he and his “group of experts” convened for two days trying to figure out how the Titanic sank. (I picture it going something like this. “It’s like you’re unraveling a giant cable-knit sweater that someone keeps knitting and knitting and knitting!…”)
Also, aren’t we all kinda clear on how the Titanic sank? I mean, Cameron himself directed a movie in which the ship crashed into an iceberg. No wait, there was a second iceberg located behind the grassy knoll!
The most important part of this news is buried at the very end of the press release. “The NatGeo initiative also will coincide with 3D re-release of Cameron’s TITANIC…” Ahh yes, the well-timed publicity grab.
