What would your first instinct be upon coming face to vapour with a murderous ghost? If your reply comes close to "immediately open fire on the intangible being," then you might feel right at home with the trailer for Netflix's upcoming SPECTRAL. Starring James Badge Dale (IRON MAN 3), Emily Mortimer (HUGO), Max Martini (PACIFIC RIM) and Bruce Greenwood (STAR TREK), the Nic Mathieu directed flick features Dale in the lead role as a "brilliant DARPA scientist embarks on a deadly mission with a Special Ops team of Delta Force soldiers into a battle-scarred, war-torn city, where mysterious phantom aggressors code-named Spectral have been causing inexplicable civilian deaths." Certainly sounds interesting, let's check out the trailer!

A little BLACK HAWK DOWN meets GHOSTBUSTERS. I like it. Legendary Pictures had originally planned to release SPECTRAL theatrically this past summer, but it was quietly taken off the schedule with no real explanation and picked up by Netflix just last month. Normally this would indicate that the movie isn't all that great, but when you combine the talent of those involved (plus music by Junkie XL, weapon's created by Weta Workship and VFX by Weta Digital), SPECTRAL might just wind up being a decent waste of your time.

SPECTRAL will make its Netflix debut on December 9th.
