The first trailer for Ambulance has been released and it finds Jake Gyllenhaal springing into action with director Michael Bay as he, among other things, hangs outside a moving ambulance and shoots at a police helicopter. You know, typical Michael Bay stuff.
Set during one day in Los Angeles, Ambulance follows a working-class guy who desperately needs $231,000 for his wife’s surgery which pushes him to reach out to a criminal friend for help. The friend talks him into taking part in a $32 million bank heist but the robbery goes wrong when the two shoot an LAPD officer, and they are soon on the run in an ambulance with an EMT and the dying officer as their prisoners. The film also stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen, Eiza Gonzalez, and Garrett Dillahunt.
Ambulance is based on the 2005 film of the same name by Laurits Munch-Petersen and it was first announced in 2015 with Phillip Noyce attached to direct. Two years later, he was replaced by Navot Papushado and Aharon Keshales. Both were eventually replaced by Michael Bay in 2020 with filming beginning in January 2021 in Los Angeles.
Did YOU like the trailer? Ambulance hits screens on February 18, 2022.
