Preacher follows Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), a man with a highly unconventional power who, along with his ex-girlfriend and an Irish vampire, journey to literally find God. Along the way they’re bound to run into some pretty colorful characters, and AMC just added one more to roster; Jackie Earle Haley.
Haley will play Odin Quincannon who, in the comics, was a wealthy businessman who makes his fortune from a meat-processing plant and who also has near-total control over the town of Salvation, using fellow Ku Klux Klansmen as his hired muscle. Haley signed on for an 6-episode arc that will take place at some point during the show’s 10-episode first season.
I’m not familiar with the source material for Preacher, but I must admit that it looks like Seth Rogen and Co. are doing a pretty stellar job at casting this thing. Haley can play one hell of an intriguing character and after reading up on the life and times of Odin Quincannon, I’m betting he’ll end up portraying one of the better villains to hit the smaller screen.
Preacher will premiere on AMC in mid-2016.
