Nope, Jack Quaid hasn’t been cast as Johnny Storm in Fantastic Four

Fantastic Four is one of Marvel’s most anticipated projects, and audiences can’t wait to find out who will be playing Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm. Casting rumours have been flying over the last few months, including a rumour earlier today which claimed that Jack Quaid would be playing Johnny Storm in the Fantastic Four movie.

Jack Quaid took to Twitter to deny that he has been cast as Johnny Storm in Fantastic Four, but encouraged people to donate to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation to help support those on strike.

The rumour about the possible Johnny Storm actor originated from Jeff Sneider, although the scooper did say it wasn’t a claim he was confident with. Sneider later corrected himself, saying he believes that it’s actually Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) who is being eyed to play Johnny Storm alongside Vanessa Kirby (Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One) as Sue Storm. Time will tell if these castings are correct, and we likely won’t know for sure until the strike is concluded.

The Fantastic Four movie will be directed by WandaVision‘s Matt Shakman, and as this will be the third Fantastic Four movie (or fourth if you count the unreleased ’90s movie), Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has said that they won’t simply be retelling the team’s origin yet again. “A lot of people know this origin story,” Feige said. “A lot of people know the basics. How do we take that and bring something that they’ve never seen before?” As the Fantastic Four have decades of history behind them, Feige admitted, “We’ve set a very high bar for ourselves with bringing that to the screen.”

Marvel has big plans for the superhero team, with Kevin Feige saying that Fantastic Four will become a big pillar of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “Fantastic Four is the foundation for everything that came after in the comics. There’s certainly been versions of it [on screen], but never inhabiting the storytelling of the MCU. And that’s something that is really exciting for us.” Feige said. “People will start to hear more about that soon. We plan on that being a big pillar of the MCU going forward, just the way they’ve been in the comics for 50 or 60 years.”

Fantastic Four is currently set to hit theaters on May 2, 2025.
