The Jack in the Box: Awakening trailer arrives ahead of horror film’s January release

Last Updated on December 20, 2021

4Digital Media released the horror film The Jack in the Box back in May of 2020, and by the end of 2020 we heard that a sequel called The Jack in the Box: Awakening was on the way – in fact, we first shared a trailer for the sequel in December of 2020. The movie didn’t have a release date at that time, but now a new trailer has arrived online and with it comes the news that The Jack in the Box: Awakening will be receiving a VOD, Digital HD, and DVD release in the UK on January 3rd, with the US release following on January 18th. You can watch the trailer in the embed above.

Written and directed by Lawrence Fowler, The Jack in the Box: Awakening has the following synopsis:

Terminally ill heiress Olga Marsdale acquires a mysterious gothic box containing a captured demon – Jack. The powerful entity within makes a deadly deal with Olga and her devoted son Edgar – deliver six victims to Jack and Olga will live. They trap several unsuspecting victims for him within the vast crumbling mansion – but can they deliver all six before it’s too late? Or will Amy, the young and innocent woman recently hired to look after the estate turn out to be more than a match for both the family and the Jack?

The film stars Matt McClure, Nicola Wright, James Swanton, and Mollie Hindle.

Fowler produced the sequel with Geoff Fowler. David Marsh and Glenn Kendrick Ackermann serve as executive producers.

I haven’t watched the first The Jack in the Box, so I’ll have to get that done before I ever watch The Jack in the Box: Awakening. Have you watched the first movie? If so, are you looking forward to the sequel? Let us know by leaving a comment below.
