At the beginning of November we shared with you the rather long-winded synopsis for Marvel’s Agent Carter TV series coming in January. We now have a more appropriate synopsis for the first two episodes as well as the first poster featuring Hayley Atwell in the titular role. Marvel also revealed the first two episodes of the season will be titled "Now is Not the End" and "Bridge and Tunnel," respectively.
Here's the synopsis for "Now is Not the End" written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, and directed by regular MCU producer Louis D’Esposito:
Peggy is contacted by old acquaintance Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper) when he is framed for unleashing his deadliest weapons and can trust no one else. To help Peggy clear Stark’s name, he insists his butler, Edwin Jarvis, be at her beck and call–whether she likes it or not. But the risk is great: If caught, Agent Carter could be targeted as a traitor and spend the rest of her days in prison…or worse.
Here's the synopsis for "Bride and Tunnel" written by Eric Pearson and directed by Joseph Russo (CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR):
Howard Stark’s deadliest weapon has fallen into enemy hands, and only Agent Carter can recover it. But can she do so before her undercover mission is discovered by SSR Chief Dooley and Agent Thompson?
I have to say, these sound like pretty fun episodes and although I already plan on giving the series a shot, I’m more optimistic than before. Hopefully it will have learned from the mistake(s) of Agents of SHIELD and offer some compelling story arcs and backstories too. I don't think that's too much to ask for, do you?
What do you think? Are you still tuning in or out?
Agent Carter begins her first mission on January 6, 2015 on ABC. It also stars Chad Michael Murray, Enver Gjokaj, James D’Arcy and Shea Whigham.
