Although there have certainly been a few standout moments in the sequels which followed TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY, the TERMINATOR franchise has never quite been the same since James Cameron called it quits after that first sequel. However, Cameron is back in the saddle for TERMINATOR: DARK FATE as he developed the story and produced the new film while leaving the directing to DEADPOOL's Tim Miller. Taking place 27 years after the events of JUDGMENT DAY, the new film finds a new Terminator (Gabriel Luna) sent from the future by Skynet with orders to terminator Dani Ramos (Natalia Reyes), a hybrid cyborg human (Mackenzie Davis), and her friends. Thankfully, Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) comes to the rescue, along with the original Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger), in order to continue the fight for the future.
The LA Times have dropped a new photo from TERMINATOR: DARK FATE featuring the two Terminators, played by Gabriel Luna and Arnold Schwarzenegger, facing off against one another.
Although there's a lot of excitement surrounding the return of James Cameron to the franchise, not to mention Linda Hamilton, audiences have been burned before with previous TERMINATOR sequels, and that's something Tim Miller completely understands. "You can’t deny the announcement of a sixth film in a Terminator series is a cause for saying, 'Enough is enough; the well is dry,'" said Miller. "At the same time, every fan of the series has this small kernel of hope that maybe this will be good." That we do Mr. Miller, that we do. As today also happens to be Judgment Day, Arnold Schwarzenegger took to Twitter to share a little message with TERMINATOR fans across the globe.
TERMINATOR: DARK FATE will hit theaters on November 1, 2019.
