It was just last week we let you know that IT director Andy Muschietti was going to be taking over the reins of the LOCKE AND KEY pilot episode from Scott Derrickson and now we have word on his next feature film as well.
Looks like Muschietti is going to be taking the helm of ROBOTECH Sony’s adaptation based on the 1980s cartoon series from Harmony Gold USA and Japan’s Tatsunoko Productions.
ROBOTECH synopsis:
The story is set in a time when Earth has developed giant robots from the technology of an alien spacecraft that crashed on a South Pacific island and is now using that technology to fight off an impending alien invasion.
Everyone from Leonardo DiCaprio to James Wan seems to have been attached to this flick over the years, but it seems like IT must be pretty damn good for it to land Muschietti the film.
What do you think of ROBOTECH? Do you have any strong thoughts one way or the other concerning the property? If so let us know on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!
Muschietti’s creative partner – and sister – Barbara Muschietti will join Gianni Nunnari and Mark Canton in producing the project.
