Earlier this week, adult Bill, James McAvoy let us all know that shooting had begun on director Andres Muschietti's upcoming adaption of the second half of Stephen King's massive novel IT. This news got us excited as all Hell and today we have some more interesting news for fans of the book.
It looks like IT: CHAPTER 2 will include two (relatively) substantial players for the original King novel with Deadline reporting Xavier Dolan has joined the cast of the sequel along with Will Beinbrink. Dolan will be playing the part of Adrian Mellon, a gay man living in Derry who was attacked by bullies, bringing about Pennywise's return after a 27-year sleep. And Beinbrink will play Beverly Marsh's abusive husband and all-around d*ckhead, Tom Rogan.
You can check out an image of Dolan above and Beinbrink below.
One of the major things that this casting brings to my mind is that if the sequel decides to keep Tom Rogan in the film (and why wouldn't they) then it would stand to reason that it is only a matter of time before we hear word on who will be playing McAvoy AKA adult Bill's wife, Audra in the near-future. I guess we'll see sooner rather than later…
For those who might not know, IT: CHAPTER 2 begins when
The evil clown Pennywise returns 27 years later to torment the grown-up members of the Losers' Club.
Dolan and Beinbrink join the rest of the sequel's cast including McAvoy, Chastain, James Ransone, Andy Bean, Jay Ryan, Isaiah Mustafa, and the return of Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise the Dancing Clown. The sequel is directed by Muschietti from a script by Gary Dauberman based on the novel by Stephen King. The film is produced once again by Barbara Muschietti, Roy Lee, and Dan Lin.
Warner Bros will release the film in theaters on September 6, 2019.
