Well, it turns out that one of the aspects that I've been most interested in finding out surrounding director Andrés Muschietti's upcoming follow-up to STEPHEN KING'S IT has just been confirmed. Being that Henry Bowers was knocked down that deep, dark well at the end of the original film, I was left wondering if he would return for the sequel. After all, his character could easily be written out, and his actions could be attributed to another character – such as Beverly's abusive husband – or someone.
But today we have confirmation via Variety that Henry Bowers will return to Derry in IT: CHAPTER 2 to terrorize the adult Loser's Club, and Teach Grant (see below) will be playing Bowers as a grown up. I'm not familiar with Grant's work so I had to Google him. What I found out is that Googling "Teach Grant" just gets you a bunch of info on Teacher's grants and whatnot.
But all jokes aside, I found Grant's IMDB and learned he's been in horror offerings such as THE TALL MAN, LEPRECHAUN: ORIGINS, DEAD RISING: ENDGAME, iZOMBIE, and LUCIFER. Not a bad resume. Henry Bowers was portrayed by Nicholas Hamilton in the first movie.
On top of that bit of casting, it looks like Bill's wife will be in the film as well with TEETH star Jess Weixler (see above) set to play Audra. She joins the already cast Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, Bill Hader, James Ransone, Andy Bean, Jay Ryan, Isaiah Mustafa, and Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise. The sequel is directed by Muschietti from a script by Gary Dauberman based on the novel by Stephen King.
The film is produced once again by Barbara Muschietti, Roy Lee, and Dan Lin. Warner Bros will release the film in theaters on September 6, 2019.
