Looks like we will be getting more to the story of Ordell and Louis (Samuel L. Jackson and Robert De Niro) from JACKIE BROWN. The Elmore Leonard characters also appeared in the novel THE SWITCH, which is now being made into a movie starring John Hawkes, Mos Def, and now Isla Fisher.
Variety reports that THE SWITCH will be the directorial debut for Dan Schechter and will follow Ordell (Mos Def), Louis (Hawkes) as they kidnap a corrupt Detroit real estate developer’s wife (Jennifer Aniston). Their plan is complicated when the husband refuses to pay a ransom for the safe return of his wife.
Fisher will take the role played by Bridget Fonda in the Tarantino movie. I think it will be cool seeing these characters return to the big screen. So far, we have JACKIE BROWN and Steven Soderbergh’s OUT OF SIGHT linked by the Michael Keaton character, Ray Nicolette. While we don’t have much to go on from director Schechter, this is a pretty good start, casting wise.
