Ruben Fleischer was recently rumored to be one of the directors Marvel is considering for ANT-MAN, and The Wrap believes the ZOMBIELAND and GANGSTER SQUAD director is also being eyed for a different project: GHOSTBUSTERS 3. According to the site, Fleischer probably won't take the ANT-MAN gig because he just had a baby with his wife, however he is up for GHOSTBUSTERS 3, and since production won't start soon, he might be able to fit the film into his schedule.
Ruben Fleischer's ZOMBIELAND and 30 MINUTES OR LESS were both distributed by Sony, and since the studio has already worked with the director a couple of times, maybe they'd feel comfortable with handing him the keys to a third GHOSTBUSTERS flick.
To be honest, I thought ZOMBIELAND was incredibly overrated, but I also think Ruben Fleischer isn't a horrible choice to direct GHOSTBUSTERS 3 either. Sony could do a hell of a lot worse, however this is just a rumor, so we'll have to wait and see if the studio does have any interest in Ruben Fleischer directing GHOSTBUSTERS 3.
