Is this the face of a villain? Our first look at Jodie Foster in Elysium

Thanks to the Twitter account of Simply Jodie, we have our first look at Jodie Foster on the ELYSIUM set.

These headshots could possibly be test photos for the look of the character. The hair makes me think Tilda Swinton. Both ladies are badasses, regardless. Foster plays the role of Secretary Rhodes, the central villain of the piece. She wants to keep the immigrants out so that the people of Elysium can continue live luxuriously. That stuck up bitch!

I’m pretty excited to see this film with all the mystery over it. I wish we were still getting to see it in March, but the more time that’s taken with the project the better it can be. Neill Blomkamp is another new creative force in sci-fi, and after seeing DISTRICT 9, I know he is destined to create even more awesome original things.

Synopsis: In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Rhodes (Jodie Foster), a hard line government ofﬁcial, will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can. When unlucky Max (Matt Damon) is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that if successful will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds.
