There’s a cosmic and epic element to Marvel’s upcoming THOR that isn’t exactly being trumpeted in Paramount’s promotional materials for the film. I mean, we’ve been given glimpses, but nothing even remotely close to what was seen in last week’s terrific footage from GREEN LANTERN. Is this simply because Paramount and Marvel want to keep it secret? Or is it a lack of confidence in the Asgard sequences?
Whatever the case may be, the trend continues. The clip below is yet another kind of boring New Mexico sequence that features Thor brawling it out with a random S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.
But the really weird part? The clip seems to be giving us our first, completely random glimpse of Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye. See for yourself below at the 00:24 mark. It’s a quick insert that features no set up or pay off. Just a completely random, out of context shot. Bizarre.
THOR hammers his way into your heart on May 6th.
Synopsis: Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment present the epic adventure, “Thor,” which spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth), a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth by his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and is forced to live among humans. A beautiful, young scientist, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), has a profound effect on Thor, as she ultimately becomes his first love. It’s while here on Earth that Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.
