TERMINATOR: GENESIS, while not an exciting title, made sense given the rebooting-nature of the plot we’ve heard thus far. There was a rumor a little while ago that the studio would be dropping the GENESIS subtitle and might simply call the film TERMINATOR. I think I would have preferred that. Instead of dropping GENESIS, the creature from John Carpenter‘s THE THING got a hold of it and morphed it into something unnatural.

The Terminator himself had this to say:
Hasta la vista, baby. I want to thank the cast and crew of @TerminatorGenisys for a fantastic shoot. It was challenging, it was fun, and it was rewarding. From our director to the producers, from the camera team to catering, from visual effects to hair and makeup – we couldn’t have done it without you. I can’t wait to see our finished project and I know we’ll remind the fans why they fell in love with the Terminator. On July 1, 2015, I’ll be back.
Unless that’s just another working title, GENISYS is what we’re left with. TERMINATOR: GENISYS. I’m probably not the only one scratching their head, wondering “Why?” but I’m not even sure a reason would make that pseudo-word easier to swallow at this point. Here’s a deal, guys; make a great Terminator film and you can call it whatever the hell you want. Deal?
TERMINATOR: GENISYS will hit theaters July 1, 2015.
