Iron Fist’s Jessica Henwick in talks to join the Matrix 4 cast

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Whoa! It sounds as if IRON FIST actress Jessica Henwick is preparing to enter the Matrix. Word of Henwick being in talks to join the cast comes after sources close to the project say that she'd performed quite well during the audition process.

Should Henwick be added to the Matrix cast, there's a chance that she'll enter the film as a female-like Neo character, and will be placed near the front of the line for Lana Wachowski's next foray into the great and digital beyond.

Once all is said and done, Henwick will join Matrix franchise actors Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss. Also set to star in the MATRIX 4 project are Neil Patrick Harris and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who is rumored to be playing a young Morpheus. It's also been reported that Jada Pinkett-Smith is negotiating to reprise her role as Niobe, a fleet-fisted hovercrafft pilot with attitude.

Wachowski will direct in addition to co-writing the screenplay with Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell. Meanwhile, Grant Hill, who executive produced MATRIX RELOADED and MATRIX REVOLUTIONS will serve as a producer on the upcoming Matrix-related endeavor.

Henwick might have arrived on many people's radar thanks to her role as Colleen Wing for Marvel and Netflix's IRON FIST, though if you look at her future credits, you'll find that she has a myriad of projects lined up. To begin, she'll star alongside Kristen Stewart in the upcoming action horror film UNDERWATER from director William Eubank. In the film, a crew of aquatic researchers work to get to safety after an earthquake devastates their subterranean laboratory. But the crew has more than the ocean seabed to fear. Dun dun dunnn! Moving on down the line, we find Henwick starring in Paramount's upcoming MONSTER PROBLEMS, Legendary's GODZILLA VS. KONG, and Sophia Copppola's Apple/A24 feature ON THE ROCKS. It's a mighty impressive list to be sure, and role in the next Matrix film would sure be a lovely feather in her already stylish cap.
