Jessica Jones returned for her second season, we just saw Luke Cage return for his, and now it’s time for the Immortal Iron Fist to come back swinging for his second go. After teaming with the heroes in THE DEFENDERS, Danny Rand (Finn Jones) is back in the second season of IRON FIST, which just dropped its first trailer during Comic-Con with a premiere date of September 7. In the preview, you can see him doing what he does best – punching people – and then unleashing his inner dragon fury.
Here is the plot synopsis:
Season 2 furthers the transformation of Danny, a character with a fish out of water coming of age story making his way in a harsh new world, battling to work out who he is. This season, Dann y has promised that with Matt Murdock gone, he will step up and protect his city. But a sinister plot twist threatens his very identity and he must conquer his villains to protect the town and people he holds close to his heart.
Along with Finn as Rand, the show will see the return of Jessica Henwick (Colleen Wing), Sacha Dhawan (Davos), Tom Pelphrey (Ward Meachum), Jessica Stroup (Joy Meachum), Simone Missick (Misty Knight) and will introduce Alice Eve as Mary Walker.
The Twitter account for IRON FIST posted a cryptic teaser yesterday with the trailer debut to hint that the Steel Serpent (Davos) would be the big bad.
Jones and Cage had pretty solid second seasons after the team-up show THE DEFENDERS, so maybe Fist will as well. The first season was a serious low point for the Marvel shows, which, despite some cool action, featured writing and performances akin to a daytime soap opera. Hopefully, season two will pick things up a bit because those fight scenes certainly deserve to be matched with an equally compelling story.
IRON FIST season two premiere September 7.
