Invincible season 2 teaser reveals late 2023 release for Prime Video series

Invincible season 2 teaser trailer reveals that the animated superhero series will return to Amazon Prime Video in late 2023.

We’re coming up on nearly two years since the first season of the animated superhero series Invincible debuted on Prime Video, which begs the question — when are we getting season 2?? It turns out that we still have a bit of a wait ahead of us, but a fun teaser for Invincible season 2 reveals that the series will return in late 2023.

The Invincible season 2 teaser opens with Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) and Allen (Seth Rogen) enjoying a burger in a diner before Allen wonders when Invincible will return. “The world needs more Invincible,” Allen says, before pestering Mark for a specific date. Late 2023 may not be as specific as Allen wanted, but he’ll take it.

Based on the comic series by Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead), Invincible follows Mark Grayson (Yeun), the son of an extraterrestrial superhero known as Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons). Mark later inherits his father’s abilities, including great strength, flight, speed, and some invulnerability, and becomes the superhero known as Invincible. He also discovers that his father’s race, the Viltrumites, doesn’t exactly have peaceful intentions toward Earth. In addition to Steven Yeun, Seth Rogen, and J.K. Simmons, Invincible also features the voices of Sandra Oh, Gillian Jacobs, Andrew Rannells, Zazie Beetz, Mark Hamill, Walton Goggins, Jason Mantzoukas, Mae Whitman, and more.

We’ve got plenty more Invincible to look forward to as Prime Video not only renewed the series for a second season, but a third season as well. “I’m extremely thankful to Amazon for the support and dedication they’ve put behind Invincible,” Kirkman said in a statement at the time. “The comic book is truly a love letter to a genre that Cory [Walker] and I grew up reading and loving, and it’s been a gratifying journey to watch our characters come to life again through the animated series. We’re beyond excited to continue this story for at least two more seasons.”

The official synopsis for Invincible:

From The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, and based on the Skybound/Image comic of the same name by Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, Invincible is an adult animated superhero show that revolves around seventeen-year-old Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun), who’s just like every other guy his age — except that his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons). But as Mark develops powers of his own, he discovers that his father’s legacy may not be as heroic as it seems.

As the teaser tells us, Invincible season 2 will debut on Prime Video in late 2023.
