As of today, November 5th, the premiere season of the Apple TV+ series Invasion is halfway through its ten episode run, and we’ve gotten our hands on a clip from the fifth episode. This clip can be viewed in the embed above (along with other promotional materials for the show), and in it we see a character played by Shamier Anderson (Awake), who appears to be stuck in a tough situation.
Created by Simon Kinberg and David Weil, Invasion is set across multiple continents and is described as
a sweeping, character-driven science fiction drama series that follows an alien invasion through different perspectives around the world.
Anderson is joined in the cast by Golshifteh Farahani (the Chris Hemsworth Extraction), Sam Neill (Jurassic Park), Firas Nassar (Fauda), Billy Barratt (Mary Poppins Returns), and Shioli Kutsuna (Deadpool 2).
Kinberg and Weil executive produce Invasion alongside Jakob Verbruggen, Audrey Chon, Amy Kaufman, Andrew Baldwin, Elisa Ellis, and Boat Rocker Studios’ Katie O’Connell Marsh. Verbruggen (The Fall) also directed episodes, as did Jamie Payne (Luther) and Amanda Marsalis (Ozark). Kinberg, who is best known for writing and/or producing multiple X-Men films (and directing X-Men: Dark Phoenix), had intended to direct episodes as well, but was too busy working on the upcoming action film The 355.
Weil previously created the Amazon series Hunters, which is executive produced by Jordan Peele. He also wrote an episode of Peele’s version of The Twilight Zone.
An alien invasion series with this cast sounds quite promising, but our reviewer Alex Maidy only gave this show a 5/10 review. (You can read it at THIS LINK.) Have you been watching Invasion, and if so, have you been enjoying it? Let us know your thoughts on this show by leaving a comment below.
Episodes of Invasion are released on Apple TV+ every Friday.
